Sara Elkhalili
I started as a journalist. I still think like one. Find out what’s true, then say it clearly. That is how trust is built, and it is the work THETRIBE does.
I reported for the Associated Press, Reuters and the Cairo Times. For seven years I taught journalism at the American University in Cairo, where I also co-built and ran the AUC Business Review. I have published peer-reviewed research on social media and propaganda.
I have built things. As COO at Egab, I led the launch of two new products. I founded Displaced, an audio platform for displaced communities that won Startup Weekend Athens. At the Thomson Reuters Foundation, I designed the journalism and AI curriculum and wrote its three-step guide to AI-ready newsrooms.
I have spent my career growing people. For more than twelve years I have trained journalists and communicators in over 27 countries with the Thomson Reuters Foundation. I led global communications and culture at Tribal Credit as it grew past 500 people, and at AssemblyAI.
I work in English and Arabic, from Athens, with clients everywhere.

How we work
Plain words
We write and speak so people understand the first time. If something can't be said simply, we haven't understood it yet.
Evidence over hype
We test before we recommend. New tools earn their place by what they do for your people, not by what they promise.
People first
Strategy only works if the people doing the work believe in it. We build with your team, not around them.
